We believe they are French. Pictured on pg. 36 in EVERYDAYDAY THINGS, WIRE by Suzanne Slesin. It makes an dramatic wall hanging. Looped feet and an intertwined design above the feet. Excellent condition with some rust on the surface. It is 16 inches D., 6 inches H. Ca. late 1800s.

WIREWARE FOOTED FRUIT BASKET A wonderful wireware footed basket. Made of sturdy thick wire. The looped handle is attached with sheet metal hinges. It has a scalloped rim with coils. Nice black surface throughout. Wonderful condition with minor breaks. Some solder joints have discolored. It is 11 inches D., 12 inches H. including handle. European, dating to early 1900s. The handle stands up and shows nicely. Sturdy enough to use for holding stone fruit.
