I have tried my best to find out more about this piece with no luck. It was included in the collection from the 30 year old collection of the retired antique dealers. They didn't know anything about it except that they liked it. We all feel that it is made of celluloid. It appears to be Japanese based on the mans clothes. I feel it dates to the late 19th. C. It measures 7 1/2 inches lg., 2 inches W., 4 1/2 inches H. at the top of the net. The carving detail is outstanding especially on the man. The net comes off the boat and the carved fish are free in the basket. The warm color and surface are very pleasing.
