A round Wireware French Fruit basket. This basket and the oval bakset also offered are identical except for shape. Both were bought from a dealer in Belfast ME. We believe they are French. Pictured on pg. 36 in EVERYDAYDAY THINGS, WIRE by Suzanne Slesin. It makes an dramatic wall hanging. Looped feet and an intertwined design above the feet. Excellent condition with some rust on the surface. It is 16 inches D., 6 inches H. Ca. late 1800s. |
